Lara Schlaich is a doctoral researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, and a member of the Information Systems III research group, headed by Prof. Dr. Jella Pfeiffer.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Purchasing and Logistics at Pforzheim University and her master’s degree in Business Administration at University Stuttgart with focus on information management and production.

She started her doctoral research at the University of Stuttgart under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jella Pfeiffer and transferred to KIT with her in January 2026.

Research Interests

Lara's research focuses on value creation through data sharing along the value chain in the context of sustainability reporting.
In line with this, her main topics of interest are:

  • Value creation through data sharing in ecosystems
  • Opportunities and challenges of data sharing in the context of sustainability reporting
  • Impact of sustainability reporting (CSRD) on corporate data management
