Prof. Dr. Jella Pfeiffer is a full professor at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. She heads the research group “Information Systems III” at the Institute for Information Systems (WIN).

She received a Diploma degree in Information Systems (Wirtschaftsinformatik) in 2006 at the University Mannheim, a Dr. rer. pol. in 2011 from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and her “Habilitation” in 2016. She worked as research group lead for “Digital Experience & Participation” and “Electronic Markets” at KIT from 2014 to 2018 and was manager of the KD²Lab. Before Jella Pfeiffer came to KIT in January 2025, she was full professor at the University Stuttgart and at the Justus Liebig University Gießen.

Her work has been published in leading journals such as Information Systems Research (ISR), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR), Journal of Behavioral Decision Making (JBDM), Journal of the Association of Information Systems (JAIS) and Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE).

Jella Pfeiffer is vice president of Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE) and member of the editorial board at Information Systems Research (ISR). She also serves in various roles supporting international research conferences, e.g. at ICIS, ECIS and WI. She is co-speaker of the “WI-Frauen” and co-speaker of the WKWI of the VHB.
