Luca Bennardo is a doctoral researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of technology (KIT), Germany. He is part of the Information Systems III research group, headed by Prof. Dr. Jella Pfeiffer.
He completed his bachelor's degrees in information systems at the Cooperative State University of Baden-Württemberg in Karlsruhe in cooperation with SAP and his master's degree in information systems at the University of Stuttgart, where he specialized in the field of data science.
Luca Bennardo is now part of the KD2School graduate programme, whose overarching research theme is the interdisciplinary and cross-locational study of the development of biosignal-adaptive systems to support economic decision-making. For his doctorate, he is focusing on processing and providing relevant biosignals, such as eye tracking in VR shopping environments, to support adivsors and increase customer satisfaction.
Research Interests
My research focuses on understanding whether integrating biosignals into the decision-making process for purchases provides added value for customers and advisors, and, if so, how these signals should be processed to achieve this. Furthermore, I am exploring the integration of novel technologies, particularly VR and LLMs, in these scenarios, as well as analysing their broader economic impact.
With that, my main focus areas are:
- Virtual and augmented reality (in the business environment)
- The organisational, procedural and technological implications of (generative) Artificial Intelligence
- Data analysis methods and programming
- Overarching topics in information systems
